Cleveland Police are investigating a firearms incident that occurred on Friday, April 12th, 2024, in the Shetland Close area of Thornaby. A property on Shetland Avenue sustained damage after a firearm was discharged.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating: “Cleveland Police can confirm on the evening of Friday, 12 April 2024, a firearm was discharged in the Shetland Close area of Thornaby. Cleveland Police are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the incident.”




Police and forensics officers remain at the scene, and a small cordon is in place. Six Cleveland Police Matrix team armed response vehicles were seen arriving at the scene at 10:23 pm. Evidence, including what appears to be bullet casings, and a hole in the front window of 37 Shetland Avenue were observed.
