The wait is finally over for Primark enthusiasts in Teesside Park. The beloved retailer has officially announced the grand opening date for its highly anticipated store – and it’s sooner than you might think!
On Wednesday, May 22nd at 10 am, the doors to the massive 37,100 sq ft Primark will swing open, revealing two floors brimming with the brand’s signature affordable fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and homeware. The store, taking over the former Mothercare unit at Teesside Park, has been undergoing extensive renovations, with iconic Primark signage recently spotted.
This will mark Primark’s 194th store in the UK, adding to its presence in the region with existing locations in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, and Darlington. The Teesside Park store promises to be a major job creator, with 140 new positions filled.
The opening was originally slated for summer 2024, but Primark has delighted shoppers by bringing the date forward. Get ready for a grand opening celebration, as local events brand The Beat Boutique has already confirmed they’ll be DJing the launch.
Primark Teesside Park store manager Eddie Burns expressed his excitement, saying, “Primark is truly a fantastic place to work… and we can’t wait for customers to see what we have in store.” Centre director Catherine Furlong echoed the sentiment, emphasising the new store’s value to the local community.
