Coffee enthusiasts in Stockton-on-Tees can start getting excited as a new Starbucks drive-thru prepares to open its doors. The long-awaited coffee shop is set to offer a convenient caffeine fix for local residents and commuters.
Construction of the Starbucks outlet, located in a portion of the former TruGym car park on on Yarm Road, is nearing completion. Passers-by can already see the iconic green and white logo, with the opening date expected to be announced soon. The drive-thru will create approximately 20 new jobs in the area.
The new Stockton branch is one of several Starbucks drive-thrus in the Teesside area. Others are located at Portrack Lane and The Mile House in Stockton and Cargo Fleet in Middlesbrough. This new location offers a more accessible option for residents of Hartburn, Thornaby, Yarm, and Ingleby Barwick.
Starbucks fans have taken to social media to express their anticipation of the new location. The drive-thru format is expected to be particularly popular, catering to the needs of busy commuters, and those working on the Preston Farm Industrial Estate.
The Yarm Road area is undergoing further development. The former TruGym is being refurbished for a planned reopening as JD Gyms, and a new McDonald’s restaurant is proposed for land adjacent to the Lidl supermarket.
These developments will expand the range of amenities available in the area. The addition of Starbucks further contributes to the increasing choice of food and beverage options for workers, residents and those passing through.
