The popular Santa on Wheels event is returning to Stockton-on-Tees this year, bringing festive cheer to the streets of the borough. The event, which is organised by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, will see Santa Claus tour the borough on an open-top bus, spreading Christmas cheer to everyone he meets.
Councillor Steve Nelson, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Leisure and Culture, said: “Santa on Wheels has been a hugely popular addition to our events programme for the last couple of years, and we hope everyone is as excited as we are to see it return this Christmas.
“Santa will be on a strict schedule to reach as many streets as possible on his four-night tour, so unfortunately he won’t be able to stop. Santa and his trusty elves will be waving to everyone as they pass. Why don’t you come out and give them a cheer?
“Make sure you check the routes and location tracker each night before they set off so that you don’t miss the big man and his helpers.”
When is Santa on Wheels?
The FREE Santa on Wheels tour will take place over four nights, from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th December 2023 starting at 4pm each evening. The bus will travel to a different area of the borough each night.

What to Expect
Expect to see plenty of festive cheer, with Santa Claus and his elves on board the bus, waving to all the children and families. There will also be Christmas music playing and some fun surprises along the way.
How to Get Involved
The best way to get involved in the Santa on Wheels event is to simply stand by the side of the road and watch the bus go by. You can also wave to Santa and his elves. You may want to bring a hot chocolate or glass of mulled wine from your home to keep warm!

Please be aware that there will be a lot of people and traffic around during the Santa on Wheels tour, so please take care and be aware of your surroundings.
