Armed police officers, some with dogs, were observed conducting raids at multiple properties on Tennyson Avenue in Grangetown today. These actions are connected to a firearms investigation following a shooting incident earlier this week.

Cleveland Police confirmed the raids are linked to an incident on Monday, April 1st, in which a 40-year-old man was shot on Richmond Court, Grangetown. The man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Eight arrests have been made, including two males aged 17 and 18 on suspicion of attempted murder. Others arrested include a 25-year-old woman and five males (aged 17, 21, 33, 43, and 45) on suspicion of assisting an offender. All remain in custody.

Police emphasise this was likely a targeted attack, and there’s no wider threat to the community. Increased patrols and property searches are ongoing as the investigation continues.
