A man has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a reported stabbing incident in the Whinney Banks area of Middlesbrough. Police, paramedics, and an air ambulance were deployed to Central Avenue following the incident. The man’s injuries, while serious, are not believed to be life-threatening.

Witnesses have described a gang of five men arriving and carrying out the alleged attack.

A cordon remains in place on Central Avenue as crime scene investigators gather evidence. Police urge anyone with information about the incident to contact them by calling 101 and quoting reference number 060754.

We were called at 2.23 this afternoon to an incident in Whinney Banks, Middlesbrough. We dispatched a clinical team leader, a double crewed ambulance and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance. One patient taken to James Cook Hospital by road.

At 2.25pm on Thursday, April 4, police were called to reports of a stabbing on Central Avenue in Middlesbrough. Officers, alongside air and land ambulance, attended to the scene and located a man with serious injuries.

He has been transported by land ambulance to James Cook University Hospital for treatment. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 060754.
