The Newcastle Spillers Wharf at Ouseburn currently hosts the New Valentine’s Fair, a vibrant funfair with a determined history. Initially launched in 2009 on the Team Valley in Gateshead, the fair aimed to become a yearly tradition and rival the iconic Newcastle Hoppings in scale.

After losing its original venue in 2022, the fair faced challenges finding a suitable alternative. Despite a smaller-scale event in 2023, organizers persisted, securing the riverside Spillers Wharf location for the fair’s exciting revival.

What rides and attractions are there?

The fair features over 90 rides and attractions. Adrenaline enthusiasts can enjoy the towering Booster Maxxx or the classic Ferris Wheel, the latter offering stunning views of the River Tyne. The Freak Out promises a thrilling ride, while the Crazy Jungle Funhouse provides amusement for all ages.

How much are the rides?

Maintaining a focus on family-friendly fun, most rides are priced at an affordable £2. Food and drink vendors are also available on-site.

When is it open?

The New Valentine’s Fair concludes its run tomorrow, February 25th. Today, the fair opens at 1 pm and closes at 10 pm. On-site parking is available for visitors.
