JD Gyms is set to breathe new life into the closed TruGym location on Yarm Road in Stockton, in a welcome move for fitness enthusiasts who were disappointed by the closure of the gym in mid-2023. TruGym closed their Stockton site in May 2023 after doubling membership fees earlier the same year to try and prop up the gyms finances. TruGym had been running the former Fitness First site for over a decade, but had faced criticism over the level of investment in the site over that time.
