Two men aged 29 and 66 have been charged with murder and have appeared in court following an incident in Ingleby Barwick on Friday night which left a 60-year-old man named local as Brian dead. Following the incident police said “a white Citroen Berlingo van appears to have been intentionally driven towards a group of people on the footpath. The driver left the scene prior to the arrival of police and the van which we believe was used in the incident was abandoned nearby.”
Shaun Breeze (29) and Martin Breeze (66) appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court today where they confirmed their name and address. Both were remanded in custody and will appear at Teesside Crown Court on at 10:30am on February 14 2024.
Today Cleveland Police released a statement: “As detectives from Cleveland Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) continue enquiries into an alleged incident in the Myton Way/Rings area of Ingleby Barwick on Friday night in which a 60 year old man sadly died, two men (29 and 66) have been charged with one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder.
The 29-year-old man was also charged with perverting the course of justice.
Both men are due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court this morning.”
Senior Investigating Officer Temp Detective Chief Inspector Mathew Hollingsworth said: “We would like to thank residents for their patience and co-operation while numerous officers remain in the area conducting enquiries, and would again appeal for anyone with information, doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage who has not yet spoken to police to get in touch.
