The A1(M) is currently closed southbound between Junction 58 for Darlington and J56 Barton
Emergency services are in attendance at the scene south of Darlington and the motorway will remain closed until at least the early hours of Saturday 6th of April.
Long distance traffic should exit the A1(M) at Junction 60 and follow the A689 Eastbound to the A19 Southbound and continue to rejoin the A1(M) at J49 Dishforth.
Local traffic are advised to find suitable alternative routes and expect delays.
