North Yorkshire Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on the A1(M) motorway last night, Friday, April 5th. Officers are requesting the public’s assistance as they seek witnesses and dashcam footage.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 9:30 pm between junctions 57 and 56, near Barton, North Yorkshire. The accident involved an orange motorcycle traveling southbound, which left the carriageway and ended up on the grass verge. Tragically, the male rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency services attended the incident, and the roadway was closed to allow for a thorough investigation. The closure affected the southbound lanes of the A1(M) between Junction 58 for Darlington and Junction 56 Barton. The motorway remained closed into the early hours of Saturday, April 6th.
