A two car crash on the A1058 Coast Road brought traffic to a standstill leaving Central Newcastle
Motorists leaving Newcastle City Centre were faced with delays as a two car crash brought traffic to a standstill on the A1058 Coast Road in the Wallsend suburb of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The smash happened on the eastbound carriageway between the Red Hall Drive junction and the A186 Station Road exit.
A grey BMW and a white Vauxhall Corsa collided and blocked the right lane causing traffic to back up to Benton Road.
Ambulances and officers from Northumbria Police motors patrol division attended the scene to the east of Newcastle City Centre and quickly had all lanes open shortly after 12:40pm
