Cleveland Fire Brigade responded to the scene on Prince Regent Street in Stockton Town Centre at 23:37 on Sunday evening 22nd of September

The response has forced the closure of Prince Regent Street between Dovecot Street and Yarm Lane a busy thoroughfare in the town.

The fire appears to be under control with crews dressed in Breathing Apparatus seeing entering and exiting the building and ventilation fans being used to clear smoke from the premises.

Onlookers gathered to witness what was going on as firefighters worked to ensure the fire and remaining hotspots were fully extinguished.

Statement from Cleveland Fire Brigade below

“Cleveland Fire Brigade were called on 22/09/2024 at 22.36pm to an incident on Yarm Lane, Stockton. Shop fire. Seven fire engines were in attendance from Middlesbrough, Stockton, Thornaby, Hartlepool and Grangetown. Four breathing apparatus and two jets were used. Main fuse board 100% damaged by fire and room 20% fire damage. The cause is believed to be electrical. We had left the scene by 01.30am.”
