“All Change,” a dazzling new show celebrating 200 years of railway history, will officially launch the S&DR200 anniversary. The unmissable spectacle will take place at the home of Kynren in Bishop Auckland on March 29, 2025.
Doors open at 4:30 pm, with a pre-show starting at 6:30 pm and the main performance at 7:00 pm. Tickets are priced at £5 per person, with limited capacity available.
The 25-minute show will take audiences on a rapid journey through two centuries of railway history, highlighting major historical moments from the Industrial Revolution and two World Wars to the present day. “All Change” will celebrate the profound impact of trains on the landscape and people’s lives.
Inspired by discussions with local historians, the performance will bring history to life through large-scale set pieces, projection mapping, original music, and a breathtaking display of 400 drones. Up to 80 local community performers, the same dedicated volunteers who bring Kynren to life, will take part in the production.
The show is the creation of award-winning performance company imitating the dog, known for their work “Arrivals & Departures” at Hull’s City of Culture opening events. Joining them are Movement Directors Rocky Norton and Katie Pearson, both of whom contributed to the grand spectacles of all four ceremonies at the London 2012 Summer Olympics.
Adding to the visual spectacle, world-renowned SKYMAGIC, pioneers behind drone and light displays at events like the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Coachella, and London’s New Year’s celebrations, will choreograph a stunning aerial performance. Their fleet of drones will weave intricate patterns in the night sky, complementing the action below.
“All Change” is a one-night-only event suitable for all ages. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to witness a spectacular celebration of 200 years of railway history.
