The A19 in County Durham is completely closed between the A179 (Hartlepool) and the A689 (Billingham) due to a serious incident after a suspected explosive device was taken to a garage. Bomb Disposal, Cleveland Police and Cleveland Fire Brigade are at the scene at Ron Perry Services. Reports widely circulating suggest the device is a hand grenade.
