Firefighters from Cleveland Fire Brigade responded to the scene late last night after a fire took place in a workshop at the Stratstone Jaguar Land Rover car dealership in Stockton-on-Tees

A Cleveland Fire Brigade Spokesperson said

“Cleveland Fire Brigade were called on Thursday 2nd

January at 20:21 to an incident at the Land Rover showroom on Concorde Way in Preston Farm, Stockton.

Four fire engines were in attendance from Thornaby and Stockton. Other resources used by firefighters included 10 breathing apparatus, three jets, two hose ree/s, thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation.

The incident was a fire which was contained to the workshop of the garage. No fire damage to cars.

Crews had left the scene by 23:11.

The cause of the fire is believed to have been an EV charging point.”

Concorde Way between the A135 Yarm Road and De Havilland Avenue was closed in both directions for a number of hours as firefighters battled to get the fire under control and prevent it spreading to the showroom.

The fire was brought under control and firefighters stood down shortly before midnight and the road was re-opened to traffic shortly after.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire. It is unclear if the fire has impacted the services offered at the dealership.
