Officers from Cleveland Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a collision on Trunk Road near Middlesbrough.

The incident happened around 6:20pm on Tuesday 4thMarch when a grey Honda Civic was in collision with a pedestrian. The collision took place between the A1053 and British Steel Lackenby Roundabout

The vehicle stopped at the scene and the pedestrian was assisted by members of the public.

The pedestrian, a 48-year-old man from the Redcar area, was taken to James Cook University Hospital with a number of injuries. He remains in hospital in a ‘stable’ condition.

Officers would like to speak to any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage who hasn’t already contacted police.

The road remained closed for several hours as officers undertaken a full investigation at the scene. The Trunk Road reopened to all traffic in the early hours of Wednesday March 5th.
