A 29-year-old motorcyclist, named locally as Andrew Robson, tragically lost his life in a four-vehicle collision close to Dalton Park in Murton on the evening of September 22nd.

Durham Police responded to reports of the incident on Spring Road close to Jade Business Park just after 7:30 PM. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Mr. Robson was pronounced dead at the scene. A pedestrian involved in the collision sustained minor injuries.

Following the incident, a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody and will be interviewed later today.

Police are urging anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident, or any witnesses, to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
