At approximately 3.15pm on Friday 15 November Cleveland Police were called to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car.
The road is closed on the westbound carriageway from the Greystones roundabout to Ormesby Bank with motorists advised to avoid the area and to use alternative routes.
A man has been arrested in connection with driving offences.
