Emergency Services from all over County Durham responded to the scene on the A1(M) Motorway north of Newton Aycliffe on Thursday afternoon resulting in a partial closure of the motorway through the North East
A multi vehicle smash closed the A1(M) within Junction 60 which is located to the west of Sedgefield in County Durham. At least three vehicles were caught up in the crash which saw a multi-agency response.

A statement from Durham Constabulary in relation to yesterday’s crash on the A1(M) Motorway near Sedgefield…
“At approximately 12.45pm yesterday emergency services were alerted to a three-vehicle crash on the northbound carriageway of the A1(M) near Bradbury Interchange.
One person was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The motorway was closed northbound, with diversions in place, while emergency services worked at the scene. It has since reopened”
