The highly anticipated Tees Valley Community Diagnostics Centre in Stockton town centre is nearing its grand opening, and stunning new photos reveal the completed, state-of-the-art exterior. The images showcase the impressive architecture of this significant new health facility, which promises to revolutionise diagnostic services for residents across the Tees Valley.

The photos capture the centre’s modern design, prominently displaying its signage and signaling its readiness to welcome patients. This visual milestone underscores the major investment in healthcare for the region, representing the largest investment in diagnostics on Teesside in a generation.

Located on the southern end of the former Castlegate Shopping Centre site, as part of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s ambitious town centre transformation, the centre’s exterior reflects the broader revitalisation of the area. The building’s design harmonises with the ongoing development of the Stockton Waterfront, which will feature an urban park and enhanced riverside access.

The photos highlight the accessibility of the centre, emphasising its convenient location within the town centre. This strategic placement ensures that residents can easily access the wide array of diagnostic services offered, including MRI scans, CT scans, ultrasound scans, cardiology services, x-rays, blood tests, and respiratory checks.

Simon Milburn, clinical director for radiology at South Tees Hospitals, emphasized the significance of the investment: “What you’re looking at is the biggest investment in my lifetime in diagnostics on Teesside, which is going to offer more tests closer to home in a nice environment.” The finished exterior, as captured in the photos, visually reinforces this commitment to providing a modern and welcoming healthcare environment.

Councillor Nigel Cooke, cabinet member for regeneration and housing, highlighted the synergy between the health facility and the town’s regeneration: “It’s amazing to be here in this new centre that is progressing really well. This is an opportunity for people to come into town to access this fantastic facility. And hopefully, when they’ve had the diagnostic tests they need, they might then do a bit of a shopping or go for a cup of coffee or go to a local eatery.”

The striking exterior, now visible in the photos, represents not just a healthcare facility, but a key component of Stockton’s revitalised town centre. The upcoming opening of the Tees Valley Community Diagnostics Centre, as visually confirmed by the completed building, signals a new era of accessible and efficient healthcare for the region.
