Photos taken this weekend show the huge upgrade taking place at Eaglescliffe Station, along with work to renew the rails and trackbed at Eaglescliffe Junction.
The works are seeing the construction of a new pedestrian footbridge to link to Durham Lane Industrial Estate, and a new car park.
Three lifts are also being installed to link the carparks and island platform.
The existing footbridge and access ramps are being renewed and retained to maximise access during construction, and also provide a second emergency exit.
Station Taxis have had their office demolished, and it will be rebuilt with a new brick waiting shelter.
